ABOUT WILLIAM

William R Sukala,MSc - Clinical Exercise PhysiologistWilliam Sukala is an exercise physiologist with extensive experience in both clinical and preventive health care settings. He holds a masters degree in exercise physiology, a bachelors degree in nutrition, and is currently conducting diabetes/exercise research towards his PhD. Most recently, William served as a clinical exercise physiologist in the Department of Cardiac Rehabilitation at Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego and the cardiac rehabilitation program at Massey University in New Zealand. He owns and operates Pinnacle Medical Exercise, a specialised New Zealand-based medical exercise consultancy devoted to helping individuals with complicated medical histories.

 

William is recognised as an expert in his field, quoted by major magazines such as Men's Health, Muscle and Fitness, Runner's World, and Redbook.  He has been interviewed on both television and radio, with appearances on Dateline NBC (USA), Televisa (México), TVNZ (New Zealand), and a variety of San Diego networks (California, USA).


Presenter: William is a popular international presenter who brings a dynamic and engaging presence to the room by combining his sense of humour with the science behind health, fitness, and nutrition. He has given talks across the United States, Australia, New Zealand, China, Hong Kong, Mexico, and South Africa. William has also taught classes at the tertiary level at University of California at San Diego, San Diego State University, and Massey University in New Zealand.

 

Writer: Aside from his work as an exercise physiologist, William is an established and respected author whose work has appeared in everything from popular magazines to peer-reviewed journals, both domestically and internationally. Most notably, he has served as a regular contributor and columnist for Weight Watchers' official website since 2000.
